SMEC's new space pays homage to their rich heritage and heralds their exciting future.

In 2016, SMEC and Singapore-based Surbana Jurong, one of Asia’s leading consultancies in urban, infrastructure and management advisory, joined forces to establish a formidable global consultancy group.

SMEC Brisbane required their new workplace to support this exciting evolution of their business and transition them from a traditional static, pod-like environment into an agile ready and flexible workspace. Working closely with SMEC’s team, Incorp was also charged to embody their “People First” and Safety culture and objective to be a “Workplace of choice” for staff and future employees.

SMEC’s new agile workplace features formal and informal meeting areas, flexible collaboration spaces, the latest interactive high-speed technology, and a café-style kitchen and entertainment area. To celebrate SMEC’s long standing and rich local history a defining feature was commissioned for the reception area – a 7 metre sculptural wall that is a contour map of the Brisbane river made of multi-layered Corian. It’s a beautiful reminder of their contribution to the growth of Australian infrastructure.
